Everyone feels it. Newcomers and Canadian-born citizens. Many newcomers write home that it's hardly worth it. Their credentials are often not recognized in their new home. And Canadian-born Canadians often lament how the standard of living has been decimated since their childhood.
Corruption no doubt has something to do with this. Corruption - like all weeds - grows from local and international seeds. It's a mistake to blame immigration. Most immigrants work hard. And it's wrong to blame 'lazy' Canadians who were born here.
Something else is going on. It's hard to pinpoint but from the perspective of a person born in Canada, it's undeniable that something foul is threatening our collective well being.
Fair is foul, and foul is fair:
