In a highly critical tone, the site says, "One of the hallmarks of the post-Vatican II 'Conciliar Period' has been the obsession of popes in welcoming the leaders of Anglican church..."

So, how do we respond to that? Naturally, I am a firm believer in freedom of expression. And yes, sometimes the Anglican Church does look quite different from its Catholic ancestor. I'm in a good position to compare, having grown up in the Anglican tradition before converting to Catholicism.
To me, both traditions possess unique strengths and weaknesses. On that note, shouldn't dialog be considered a fundamentally good thing? It allows us to mirror and address each other's issues, enabling us to grow together—closer to each other, and ultimately, closer to God.

I don't know if receiving religious leaders outside of Christianity is more equal than the fellow believers who believe in the name of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the point is that God created everyone, so we should all get along. I do not believe all religions are the same. But I do believe they could work together toward a common good.
